A mid-century Vallauris ceramic bowl, hand-crafted and finished in the signature deep oxblood glossy red glaze, circa 1950. Displaying a spiral centre and curved ribs radiating outwards. With a thick, looped layered edge and a twisted rope pedestal base. Extremely weighty and tactile - the design of the bowl is layered so it feels very substantial and striking from every angle. These look fantastic as a table centrepiece, or used in a kitchen to house fruit.
In good condition with wear relative to age, one larger chip and a small one underneath which is not visible to the eye.
