A naive oil on canvas “Before the Crayfish Party II” by Swedish artist Ingrid Edenberg, who was from Stockholm and painted this in 1983.

Depicting Stockholm social life told cheerfully, showing a table laid for a crayfish party on a terrace above the water. A platter of crayfish placed on a pink cloth, with dill, green glasses and radishes set around it. Two white chairs and a bench face the table, and a closed orange parasol stands to the left. Behind, a smiling sun face lantern hangs between two striped paper lanterns, above a railing and a cottage lit across the bay.

It comes with two documents, the artist’s typed CV and a 1983 review from Svenska Dagbladet in which Stig Johansson wrote that she paints her Stockholm with a cheerful naive temperament. This is Stockholm social life told exactly that way. Signed Ingrid Edenberg at the lower left.
